Law of Reflection
Quick fact
The law of reflection applies not only to light but also to sound, water waves, and even seismic waves.
Why this is interesting
Have you ever noticed how light reflects off a mirror to form your image? This happens because of an invisible rule that governs how waves interact with surfaces.

Understanding Law of Reflection
When a wave, like light or sound, hits a surface, it bounces back. The angle at which it hits the surface (angle of incidence) is equal to the angle at which it reflects off the surface (angle of reflection). This means that if you shine a flashlight at a mirror at 30 degrees, it will reflect back at 30 degrees.
A deeper explanation
The law of reflection arises from the wave's interaction with the boundary between two media. Waves tend to preserve their direction and energy during reflection, maintaining symmetry in their path. This principle is critical for technologies like fiber optics, radar systems, and architectural acoustics.
