Quantum Electron Transition
Quick fact
An electron can only transition between specific, quantized energy levels, not anywhere in between.
Why this is interesting
Have you ever wondered why different elements glow with unique colors when heated? It all starts with electrons jumping between energy levels in atoms.

Understanding Quantum Electron Transition
Imagine an atom as a ladder. Electrons live on rungs (energy levels). When they absorb light, they jump up to higher rungs; when they drop down, they emit light. This process is called quantum electron transition.
A deeper explanation
Quantum electron transitions occur because electrons in atoms can only occupy specific energy states. When an electron absorbs a photon with the right amount of energy, it jumps to a higher state. When it falls back, it emits a photon. This mechanism explains how light is emitted and absorbed by matter, forming the basis for technologies like LED lights and fluorescence.
