Nozick's Entitlement Theory vs. Patterned Principles of Justice

Quick fact

In his 1974 book Anarchy, State, and Utopia, Robert Nozick used the example of basketball star Wilt Chamberlain to argue that any patterned distribution (e.g., by need, merit, or equality) will be rapidly undone by voluntary exchanges, making the pattern impossible to maintain without constant, coercive interference.

Why this is interesting

Suppose all wealth were redistributed to match the most popular pattern—say, each person's bank balance exactly reflects their need. Would that state of affairs remain just after dinner?
